- A compilation of five bulletins entitled “Report on an Attempt to Establish Friendly Contact with Auca Indians.” The report was prepared for the news media, missions, and other interested parties by Abe Van der Puy, field director of missionary radio station HCJB in Quito, Ecuador. The bulletins, going up to January 14, describe in detail the preparations for the contact with the Waorani, what was known of the experiences of the five men at Palm Beach and their killings, and the detailed reports of the search party that found the men’s bodies and buried them. The first bulletin (untitled) contains extensive quotes from a letter, a report from Nate Saint, and the diary of Peter Fleming. Printed copy of a typed document, 9 pages. January 1956.
