Mincaye (Minkaye), -2021

Mincaye (Minkaye) was another member of the Guiquetairi kinship group who joined the Waorani attack on Palm Beach. Like Geuquita and Quemo, Mincaye converted to Christianity after his half-sister Dayuma returned to the kinship group and Elisabeth Elliot and Rachel Saint joined the Waorani at Tewaeno. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Mincaye traveled with Steve Saint, son of Nate Saint, on speaking tours, recounting how the tragic attack on Palm Beach led to the spiritual transformation of the Waorani people. Mincaye played a large part in Steve Saint’s 2006 film, The End of the Spear. He died in 2021.
