Geuquita (Gikita), 1916-1997

A prominent Waorani leader from the Guiquetairi kinship group, Geuquita (Gikita) was one of six Waorani men who launched a surprise raid on Palm Beach that killed the five American missionaries on January 8, 1956. Through the outreach of his niece Dayuma, and later Elisabeth Elliot and Rachel Saint, he later converted to Christianity, renounced spearing, and became a leader in the Waorani church at Tewaeno.
